Color Coding in the Kitchen Part 2: Color Coded Freezing System

I stock up my refrigerator with veggies, meat, poultry, fish and milk over the weekend so that I don't run out of ingredients during the week.

I also keep chopped onions and ground masala pastes ready in zip lock bags. Some zip lock bags are opaque and others get frosty hence I find it difficult to see which bag contains what. I usually pull out a few bags before I get my hands on the one I am looking for.

Then it occurred to me that if similar items are kept together retrieval would be easier. I decide  to keep the items in color coded baskets to make retrieval easier.

pink - meat
blue - fish
orange - poultry
green - veggies
yellow - masalas
white - milk
light blue - onions

This truly has made retrieval easier. Now when I am looking for poultry I directly reach out for the orange basket.
